[DRM JS] How to replace the top plate of an arcade controller

You can create original arcade stick top panel images for free using Canva (free membership registration required).
02What you need
Essential Items
- PDF Template (24mm version or 30mm version)
- DRM JS Acrylic Set (includes hex key and clear acrylic panel)
- Image file you want to use for the top panel
- Utility knife
- Flathead screwdriver (for removing the lever ball)

Circle cutter
* Similar products are available at 100-yen shops, but we recommend this one for its sharper blade.
03Preparing the image for printing
- Go to Canva (free membership registration required) and drag & drop the PDF template to open the file.
- Drag & drop the image you want to use for the top panel.
- Right-click on the top panel image and select "Layer" → "Send to back".
- Once finished, select "Share" → "Download", and choose "PDF" as the file type to download.
04Printing and Cutting the Image
Print the PDF file you created at a convenience store copier or a printing company. For A3 size, convenience store printing may not offer high-quality paper such as glossy cardstock, so if you're particular about quality, we recommend using Kinko's or a dedicated printing company. Also, note that convenience store online printing may encounter issues, so document printing is recommended.
・Paper size: "A3"
・To print in actual size, do NOT select options such as "Fit to page"
After printing, cut out the unnecessary parts. A circle cutter is convenient for this.
05Installing the printed sheet
Please refer to around 10:34 in this video.
Please note that the production version uses colored cables for the 8 buttons, excluding the extra buttons.
* The above shows the layout when viewed from inside the main unit.
* Depending on the production period, red (R2) and yellow (◯) may be reversed.
06Caution regarding cable removal
When removing cables from the buttons, it's easier to pull them out while pressing the metal protrusion indicated by the red circle below.
Jump Button Toggle Switch Cable
The cable connected to the jump button toggle switch does not have a locking mechanism. If it is stiff, use tools such as a flathead screwdriver, tweezers, or pliers to remove the metal part. It can be easily removed by using a flathead screwdriver or similar tool as a lever.
